Wilmslow Fun Dog Show
Sorry for the lack of blog posts recently!
Time has gotten the better of me so this post is a little out of date as the show was back in May!
I love to do new and different things with me dogs- its so fun for them to try something new and meet new friends! So back in May, we took Maggie and Milo to their first ever dog show.
The show has held at The Carrs in Wilmslow which is great for dogs- big fields for them to play fetch and paths to stick to for a walk.
Waiting for our class' to begin we took the dogs for a run around and also tried their hand at a small agilty course.
Safe to say neither of them will be entering Crufts anytime soon! Although we managed to coax them to jump the hurdles (with some cheese, obviously) neither of them would go anywhere near the tunnel!
There were a few stalls to look at including doggy bags, a charity stall where they checked your dogs teeth for a small donation and a place to get a cake and a brew.
Unfortunatley, neither Maggie nor Milo got placed in their class! I won a bottle of wine in the raffle, however, so it wasn't all a loss!
Overall, it was a fun few hours for the dogs and a change of scenery for them which I think is always a good thing! They both had a long sleep when they got home which means it was a success!
The good points:
-Great day out for the family.... one class even had a 'public vote' for the winner in which the dog with the loudest cheer won!
-Great to do do something different with the dogs
-Good walking for the dogs as well as the actual show
Could Improve:
-Would like to see more stalls and things to look at whist waiting inbetween classes
-Would have been better if the timetable had been posted online before the show as myself and other people missed out on the classes we wanted to enter
Do you know of any upcoming dog shows/events? Would love to hear about them!
